Joe Rogan gets nostalgic about "killer" Daniel Cormier's UFC reign in podcast chat with Rod Blagojevich: "Insane tank of a human being"

Joe Rogan reflected on Daniel Cormier's incredible UFC career during a conversation with former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich on episode #2245 of The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) podcast. Rogan described Cormier as a "killer" in the octagon and a "sweetheart" outside of it.

Recalling Cormier's dominance, Rogan highlighted his reign as a two-division champion in the UFC and his success in Strikeforce’s heavyweight division:

"The friendliest people that I know are all killers... Daniel [Cormier] was a light heavyweight champion and heavyweight champion. He was a two-division world champion and was dominating a weight class in Strikeforce that he didn't even belong in heavyweight. He's like 5'11." He's not a big guy. He's just such an insane tank of a human being."

Praising Cormier's wrestling prowess and mental toughness, Rogan marveled at his ability to dominate two weight divisions despite his relatively small stature:

"His wrestling was so insane and just his will was so insane. Dominated two different divisions. He was a killer. The nicest f*cking guy you'd ever meet in your life. If you were hanging around him, you'd never believe that could pick up anybody in the room and smash them on their head. You would never believe it. You would just think he's this sweetheart of a guy."

When Daniel Cormier reflected on fan backlash and Joe Rogan's support during fighting days

Daniel Cormier once opened up about the mixed reactions he received from fans during his fighting days. Despite his achievements, Cormier often faced criticism and boos, especially during his rivalry with Jon Jones.

Speaking on the Pound 4 Pound podcast, Cormier recalled a moment when he faced a hostile crowd while Jones was in attendance.

“They’re booing, Jon’s in the crowd, I’m talking trash to him, I’m on his neck.”

Amid the uproar, Joe Rogan defended Cormier, expressing confusion over the audience’s disdain. Cormier recounted:

“Joe Rogan says, I don’t understand this.”

Nevertheless, Cormier admitted that boos didn't deter him, as he was focused on his accomplishments, drew lucrative fight purses, and consistently sold out events.
