Joe Rogan looks back at comedian John Cleese's prediction about extremism from the 1980s: "Amazing how little things change"

Joe Rogan recently highlighted the noted British comedian John Cleese's description of extremism and its effects on the masses. Rogan also opined that Cleese's monologue from 1987 continues to be relevant to this day.

A recent Instagram post from Rogan showcased Cleese's take on how both the extremist sides, the left and the right, had their own set of morals, allies, and adversaries. The now-85-year-old comedian's words also exhibited how both parties view the "moderate" masses as their enemy.

The caption to Rogan's post displayed his agreement with Cleese's description. The popular podcast host also opined that Cleese's explanation holds true even after all these years:

Joe Rogan's apolitical stance

Despite publicly endorsing Donald Trump for U.S. president in November last year, Joe Rogan said that he does not identify as either Republican or Democrat but considers himself “an American.”

In an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience from January, Rogan told guest Warren Smith:

“I don't consider myself a Republican. I don't consider myself a Democrat either. I consider myself an American. There's a lot of things that the Democrats believe that I believe too. There's a lot of things that they say that make a lot of sense to me. There's a lot of things that the Republicans say that make a lot of sense to me too. The idea that I have to ignore things that make sense to me because it's coming from the wrong team is just stupid.”
