Joe Rogan praises Apple for protecting user data, in contrast to Google
Joe Rogan gave credit to Apple for protecting people's data compared to Google.
Earlier this week, Rogan released episode #2176 of the Joe Rogan Experience with comedian Chad Daniels as his guest. The nearly three-hour conversation started with the legendary UFC commentator explaining a story of Google recommending purses to him after talking about them with his wife.
Plenty of people have similar stories of receiving suggestions for a product without looking anything up online. Rogan detailed his point of view and compared Google's policies to Apple by saying:
"We were talking about how Google is totaling listening to me, confirmed 100%. Your Google news feed is always stuff you're interested in pretty much. I was having a conversation with my wife about purses... All of a sudden, Google starts showing me purse things. They start showing me all of this stuff about purses. I didn't look anything up about purses."
Rogan followed up by comparing Google to Apple:
"Apple is pretty good about stuff. I think they are probably the best about that. They are the first company that actually stepped in and said we're gonna stop companies from being able to share your information."

Joe Rogan claims "there's no doubt" Google is listening to people through devices
Joe Rogan detailed a common theme of Google allegedly listening to people's conversations to provide recommendations online. During episode #2176 of JRE with Chad Daniels, Rogan had this to say about there being "no doubt" that his conversation with his wife about purses led to his algorithm being changed:
"There's no doubt it happens. There is 100% no doubt it happens because that is the only explanation for that showing up. Generally, it's always the same stuff [showing up on Google], the same kind of things I'm interested in, stuff that I click on - UFOs, MMA, some new car, something. It makes sense, and it shows up. Why are they showing me three different articles on purses? F*ck is going on."
Joe Rogan also suggested that Google's alleged methods could be mentioned in the terms and conditions, which most people don't fully read. It should be noted that the previously mentioned accusations are Rogan's opinions and would likely be disputed by Google.
