Joe Rogan recalls taking DNA test, reveals genetic ancestry with possible Genghis Khan link: "That guy f**ked everybody"
In episode #2227 of The Joe Rogan Experience, the popular podcaster posited to fellow comedian Adrienne Iapalucci that he may be related to Genghis Khan, one of history's most ruthless conquerors. To verify that he indeed was, Rogan took a DNA test.
The logic behind his belief that he could be related to the historical figure revolves around the countless number of women who were victims of sexual violence committed by the Mongol conqueror during his conquests. This was pointed out by Rogan, who walked Iapalucci through his desire to uncover his genetic history.
Rogan said:
"You get a little swab in your mouth and they sell your data to China. I did it. I just wanted to know what was going on, but it was all things I knew. Mostly Italian, some Irish, 1% Asian, 1.6% African. I think the Asian is probably Genghis Khan sh*t. I think Genghis Khan just f**ked so many people, it just got into so many people on different places. It's crazy, yeah. That guy f**ked everybody."

The UFC commentator has always shown a fascination with different subjects. History is just one of them, and he has hosted several academics on his podcast. Whether he is related to the Mongol conqueror is a different matter entirely, which he can't necessarily prove.
It is, though, an interesting glimpse into Rogan's family history, and it begs the question as to when his family line crossed through Asia.
When Joe Rogan spoke about Genghis Khan's relation to the rest of the world
This isn't the first time that Joe Rogan mentioned Genghis Khan. In episode #2208 of his podcast, he spoke to Brigham Buhler, a medicinal entrepreneur, about Mongolian history. Specifically, he asked his producer, Jamie Vernon, to look up details on the aforementioned conqueror.
"What was the number, Jamie, when we last looked at what percentage of the population in Asia has Genghis Khan's DNA? It's something nuts, like 5% of everybody."
