Joe Rogan's Elon Musk "myth" irks Jeremy Clarkson as Top Gear veteran pens scathing response to allegations: "No one believes me"

Jeremy Clarkson recently shared his reaction to Joe Rogan's latest comments on the infamous Top Gear episode featuring a review of one of Elon Musk's Tesla models. The British television icon was irked by Rogan propagating a seemingly inaccurate version of the story and cleared the air around the allegations.

For context, Clarkson reviewed the Tesla Roadster in an episode of Top Gear (Episode 7, Season 12) in 2008. It's safe to say that the veteran presenter wasn't a fan of the all-electric vehicle and made that clear in his scathing review of the car. In the episode, the car seemingly broke down, ran out of juice, and suffered from brake failure.

There was also footage of the Tesla vehicles having to be pushed to a garage for repairs and recharging. Nevertheless, Clarkson was appreciative of the Tesla Roadster's speed and lauded some other aspects of the car. In the aftermath, Tesla slammed Clarkson's review and dismissed most of his findings as untrue.

During a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast with former Top Gear presenter Chris Harris (JRE #2199), the UFC commentator brought up the controversial review and claimed:

"I think they [Top Gear] did Elon dirtier than anybody ever did... They did a terrible thing, and I talked to [Elon] about it, and he was furious... They pretended that it died on them, and they did it for a sketch, and they got away with it because it's entertainment, and they were allowed to create a script." [H/t: GBN]

Jeremy Clarkson responds to Joe Rogan and Chris Harris' comments on his Tesla review

Jeremy Clarkson recently responded to Joe Rogan and Chris Harris' recollection of his Tesla Roadster review. The British television legend wasn't happy about their presentation of the story and outlined his thoughts on the matter in a recent column.

In his weekly column for The Sun, Clarkson addressed the controversy and dismissed Rogan's claims that Elon was 'done dirty' in the show. Recalling his time as a Top Gear presenter, he wrote:

"There are lots of made-up stories about what happened when I hosted Top Gear. In the big scheme of things, it doesn’t matter. But it does wind me up something rotten when Joe and Chris perpetuate the myth that my Tesla road test was unfair."

Clarkson continued:

"And the fact is, Elon Musk took the BBC to court on the matter and lost. He lost the appeal, too. I know no one believes me... But it’s true... Our road tests were always scrupulously fair." [H:t: The Sun]

Later, an X user called for Clarkson to "bury the hatchet" with Rogan and join him on his podcast for a chat. The Englishman denied the existence of a feud and replied:

"What hatchet?"
