Joe Rogan shares Marc Goddard’s startling admission about Alex Pereira’s “ungodly” power after officiating ‘Poatan’ in the UFC
Joe Rogan formed part of the commentary team for UFC 307, headlined by Alex Pereira vs. Khalil Rountree Jr., alongside Jon Anik and Daniel Cormier. 'Poatan' secured his third consecutive stoppage victory of 2024, and Rogan has now made a stunning revelation about Pereira's power.
Marc Goddard, the referee in charge of UFC 307's main event, shared with Rogan that he had never heard a fighter's punch sound the way the Brazilian's does.
Goddard was also in charge of Israel Adesanya's fight against Pereira at UFC 281, where 'Poatan' secured a TKO win in Round 5.
Following UFC 307, Rogan joined his commentary partners on ESPN MMA, where he disclosed what the British referee told him in the octagon:
"I was in the octagon after the fight and Marc Goddard came up to me and he said, 'I've been doing this for 20 years. The way he hits people, the sound, is like nothing I've ever heard before.' He said, 'It's ungodly.' That's what he kept saying, he said, 'It's ungodly.'"
Rogan continued:
"[Pereira] is just different. In every way shape or form. I knew this coming in to his MMA career, I knew this from kickboxing... This is a different thing you're dealing with."

Joe Rogan claims Alex Pereira fought with major injury against Jiri Prochazka
Alex Pereira became the light heavyweight champion at UFC 295 after defeating Jiri Prochazka via TKO in Round 2.
He was also awarded the Performance of the Night bonus for his showing, and Joe Rogan has now claimed that the Brazilian faced off against Prochazka with a severe knee injury.
The longtime UFC commentator's comments came during a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, where Pereira's longtime rival Israel Adesanya joined him as his guest.
Rogan said:
"[Pereira] fights injured. Apparently, his knee was really fu**ed up in the first Jiri Prochazka fight. You know like when he stopped Jiri and he did a forward roll. He said he did that because he didn’t trust in on his right knee... It was fu**ed up in training camp, and so when he stepped off him [Jiri] he just decided to roll forward, instead of putting weight on his right knee."
