Joe Rogan shares his support for trans people, explains his stance: "I believe in freedom and I believe in love"
Joe Rogan recently shared his support for the transgender community during his latest stand-up special 'Burn The Boats'.
Over recent years, Rogan has often come under fire from certain members of the public for offering his thoughts on a particular movements or situation. Rogan has seen himself lose work, fans and sponsorship deals over his takes, however, one point that the 56-year-old has doubled down on over the years is that he believes anyone should be able to be who they want and love who they want.
This was evident in his Netflix exclusive special that dropped this week, where Rogan opted to discuss trans people. Whilst he did ultimately make a joke about the situation, which is a given since he is a comedian, Rogan did also push home the point that he believes transgender people should have freedom. He said:
"I just wanna be real clear. I believe in trans people. I think the world is strange, nature is strange. Nature can throw you a curveball and you believe you're in the wrong body. And I fully support your right as an adult to do whatever you want that makes you happy. I believe in freedom, I believe in love." [22:10]
He continued:
"But I also believe in crazy people! And here's the thing. That somehow or another, that got left out of the equation. All of a sudden crazy people just went away, like the flew during COVID."
Joe Rogan weighs in on UK's crackdown on protests
Joe Rogan recently offered his take on the growing unrest in the United Kingdom (UK), which has seen the British government cracking down on far-right protests.
Over the last few days, the U.K. has seen widespread rioting following the murder of three innocent children in Southport last month. The riots saw large numbers of anti-immigration members of the public coming together and attacking businesses, the police, migrants and people of color. There have since been large scale arrests made.
During episode #2185 of the Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan opted to share his thoughts on the situation, saying:
"Just terrible government overreach. You see it now in England, where people are getting arrested for tweets. People talk about Soviet Russia, like, how bad Russia is in terms of cracking down on thought police and cracking down on bad tweets and things like that... I think the statistics are, something like 4,000 [3,300] people have been arrested in England for thought crimes... and it's only 200 [400] in Russia.
"The fact that they're comfortable with finding people who've said something that they disagree with and putting them in a f**king cage in England in 2024 is really wild."
