Joe Rogan shocked by frequency of FDA's backtracking on drug approvals: "That's fu*king bananas"

Joe Rogan recently discussed corruption and lobbying influence on high-profile national institutions like the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). He also expressed his shock at finding out how often the FDA backtracks on drug approvals.

The FDA is a federal agency responsible for controlling and supervising medication, drugs, supplements, vaccines, tobacco/caffeine products, blood transfusions, food safety regulations, veterinary medicine, etc.

During a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast with Shawn Ryan (JRE #2207), the UFC commentator shared his thoughts on how the "system" could be heavily influenced by relationships between the heads of federal organizations and corporations. He said:

"Probably the whole system is heavily influenced... heavily influenced by relationships that these people have with CEOs of these corporations and boards of executives and this weird little revolving door between the FDA and the CDC."

Rogan then found out that one-third of all drug approvals were recalled, according to a 2017 study. Expressing his surprise at how high the number was, he said:

"That's f**king bananas. Just give it some time, kids."

Joe Rogan questions government cracking down on misinformation without affecting freedom of speech

Joe Rogan is among the most popular personalities in the world. He is known for hosting the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, apart from being a fan-favorite commentator for the UFC. The stand-up comic is also notoriously outspoken and rarely holds back from expressing his raw, unfiltered opinions.

While Rogan has never glued himself to any polarizing social/political issues as an advocate, he's a massive proponent of free speech. The 57-year-old often explains the importance of upholding the freedom of expression in a democracy like America.

During an episode of Rogan's podcast with Matt Walsh, the UFC commentator questioned how the government could uphold free speech while policing misinformation and said:

"One of the things that's been discussed is cracking down on misinformation and that free speech doesn't include misinformation. Which is a wild thing to say after what we just went through with COVID, where what people were saying was misinformation turned out to be 100% true."

Rogan continued:

"Who the f*ck gets to decide what's information? Only the government? You guys? The people that have lied about basically everything? This is a crazy thing to say."
