Joe Rogan taken aback by shocking forecast about China's fall in next decade

Joe Rogan has seen the world through many lenses thanks to his podcast platform that has dominated over most others.

Given his extensive interactions with professionals from a variety of fields, Rogan would need to encounter something utterly incomprehensible to be surprised. Such was the case on a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience with geopolitical strategist Peter Zeihan.

As tensions escalate between the United States and China, questions have been raised about the future of US global supremacy, with China viewed as an emerging force that could dethrone the United States. In addition, competition is intensifying between China and the United States in the southern Pacific, with both countries striving to expand their influence among island nations.

The US reduced its number of naval transits through the #Taiwan Strait in 2022 to the lowest level in four years even as #China stepped up military pressure on the island it vows to one day control bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Peter Zeihan, a political strategist, has a radically different perspective, stating that China lacks numerous qualities to surpass the United States. Zeihan, contrary to popular belief, thinks that the Chinese system is on the verge of collapse and shared with Rogan his perception that China will not survive this decade.

Most of us will live to see China collapse by the numbers…assuming nothing else destroys it first.

Joe Rogan was unable to comprehend the information that Zeihan was imparting, and he posed a number of questions intrigued by the fascinating take:

"China has 10 years to go? What do you mean by that?"

Zeihan pointed out that China lied about their population statistics and overcounted their population by over 100 million people. China faces an imminent population collapse as a result of the success of its one-child policy.

China's population is currently rapidly aging. Chinese leaders abolished the one-child policy in 2016, allowing couples to have two children, but that did little to reverse the population drop.

China's economy is highly dependent on international trade, particularly with the United States. According to Zeihan, without the United States, China would lose access to energy, income from the sale of manufactured goods, the capacity to import the raw materials necessary to produce those manufactured goods, and ability to import or produce its own food.

As most exported items travel by sea, any interference with the freedom of navigation will have a detrimental effect on the economy.

Joe Rogan talks about "how bad" the Chinese are spying on America

The United States has periodically accused the Chinese government of attempting to illegally acquire U.S. military technology and classified information, as well as the trade secrets of U.S. companies, to advance China's long-term military and commercial development.

Chinese government agencies and affiliated employees have been accused of espionage and commercial enterprise exploitation to acquire U.S. technology. They have also been accused of abusing U.S. laws to avoid prosecution.

Expanding on his conversation with CIA agent Mike Baker and addressing the concerns in an earlier episode of JRE (The Joe Rogan Experience), Joe Rogan said:

"The FBI director was talking about how bad Chinese spying is on Americans, and he said it's bigger than every other country combined. Stealing intellectual properties, stealing all your data, stealing credit card numbers, stealing where you're going, tracking you ... if you're criticizing the Chinese government ... it's like whatever the f**k, you're controlled."
