Joe Rogan live reaction to UFC 284: Podcaster left utterly shocked with main event scorecard
Joe Rogan begged to differ on Islam Makhachev being awarded the unanimous decision victory over Alexander Volkanovski. The mixed martial arts community, just like Rogan, appears to be divided on who came out on top in the main event of UFC 284.
Two judges scored the fight 48-47 in Makhachev's favor, however, judge Derek Cleary scored it 48-46 for the Dagestani. Cleary's decision has become a major bone of contention, with many fans arguing that Volkanovski deserved to get his hand raised.
Several MMA pros, including the likes of Nate Diaz and Dillon Danis, have congratulated Alexander Volkanovski despite the Australian losing the fight. Joe Rogan, who was off broadcast duties for the pay-per-view event, enjoyed the event with his crew, which included former UFC heavyweight fighter Brendan Schaub and jiu-jitsu coach Eddie Bravo.
As soon as the result was announced, Rogan couldn't conceal his disappointment and everyone on the stream collectively cited "robbery". According to them, Volkanovski had done enough to win on the scorecards. Rogan stated:
"Oh my God! We were convinced [that Alexander Volkanovski won the fight]. We might have to watch it [again]. Let's see what people think online. In my eyes, I thought it was 3-2."

Alexander Volkanovski wants a rematch with Islam Makhachev
'The Great' was unable to achieve his goal of winning titles in two different weight classes. Before the bout, the Australian made a commitment to defend both of his championships if he were to become a two-weight champion.
Yair Rodriguez's submission victory over Josh Emmett at UFC 284 marked the coronation of an interim champion in the featherweight division. Volkanovski stated during the post-fight octagon interview that he still has unfinished business in the lightweight division and that he will now focus his attention on Rodriguez.

During the post-fight press conference, Volkanovski stated that he would be interested in a rematch with Islam Makhachev:
"I'm hearing that he was going back to his corner and [asking] a rematch becasue he thought he had lost. That's funny... I would jump on the [opportunity of] a rematch."
