Johan Ghazali still beaming with confidence ahead of comeback fight at ONE 168: “I’ve just got to show it in Colorado”
17-year-old Malaysian Muay Thai sensation 'Jojo' Johan Ghazali is oozing with confidence ahead of his comeback fight early next month, following the first setback of his professional career.
Ghazali dropped a disappointing unanimous decision loss to 'No.1' Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat of Vietnam last June at ONE 167 on Prime Video. Despite the heavy hype surrounding the teenage firecracker, Ghazali failed to mount an effective offense against the veteran Nguyen, which led to the setback.
However, heading into his next outing, 'Jojo' says his confidence is as high as it has ever been, and he wants to show American fans what he's made of.
The 17-year-old rising star told ONE Championship in a recent interview:
"[It hasn’t dented my confidence] at all. It’s still there, and I’ve just got to show it in Colorado. The loss does give people that sense that I’m not there at the top of my game, but I’m ready to show them what I’m made of."
Needless to say, if Ghazali can perform the way fans have grown accustomed to him, it's going to be another explosive night for the Malaysian sensation.
It won't be long until Ghazali steps back into the Circle, and this time on Western soil.
