John Lineker wants to test who has the better chin between him and ‘The Iron Man’ Rodtang: “It would be insane!”
Former bantamweight MMA world champion John Lineker is quite curious if Rodtang Jitmuangnon's legendary chin will hold up against the nuclear power that his fists possess.
The possibility of a showdown between 'Hands of Stone' and 'The Iron Man' has become more realistic after the Brazilian recently made a successful transition to Muay Thai.
Lineker stuck to his gunslinging ways and mercilessly knocked out Asa Ten Pow at ONE 168: Denver last Sept. 6 at the Ball Arena.
Needless to say, a marauder like Lineker will find a lot of success in an all-striking affair. The 34-year-old's ridiculous finishing abilities translated well in 'The Art of Eight Limbs'.
Plus, the American Top Team's own granite doesn't get enough credit, since he's only been knocked out once in 49 career MMA fights.
There are definitely a ton of intriguing match-ups for Lineker and looks like he wants to test the durability of the flyweight Muay Thai world champion. He told ONE in an exclusive interview:
“In Muay Thai, a fight against Rodtang [Jitmuangnon] would be interesting, and I think the fans would really enjoy watching it. I think it would be insane!"
The full replay of ONE 168 is available on demand for Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
Rodtang is laser-focused on Jacob Smith rematch
While Rodtang will likely entertain Lineker's challenge, he's pretty much occupied with one name in mind at the moment.
'The Iron Man' will defend his 135-pound Muay Thai strap against familiar foe Jacob Smith in the promotion's second US show of the year at ONE 169: Atlanta.
Despite already holding a victory over the Brit, the Thai star says he can't afford to be complacent when they run it back on Nov. 8 at State Farm Arena.
Rodtang said in a Sportskeeda MMA exclusive:
"He's been evolving, improving every day. There's no reason to underestimate him although I have won against him before."
Tickets for ONE 169: Atlanta are available via Ticketmaster.
