Jon Anik jokes about having "nightmares last night" of Jonathan Martinez kicking him after the latter's vicious KO of Cub Swanson - "I woke up dripping with sweat"

Jonathan Martinez's ruthless TKO victory over Cub Swanson at UFC Vegas 62 has given UFC color commentator Jon Anik nightmares.

The visual of MMA veteran Cub Swanson collapsing to the ground to Martinez's vicious leg kick attack was a painful sight to behold. 'The Dragon' had great success with his inside leg kicks to the lead leg of Swanson from the southpaw stance. Martinez kept chopping down with a leg kick onslaught until Swanson could not stand on it anymore.

Speaking on the Anik & Florian Podcast, Jon Anik jokingly stated that Martinez's performance gave him nightmares and he woke up "dripping with sweat":

"I had nightmares last night about Jonathan Martinez kicking me with his left foot all across my lower-half [and] mid-section. I woke up dripping with sweat. I went skins for the second half of my sleep."

Martinez's TKO victory over Cub Swanson was just the 14th leg-kick TKO in UFC history. The domination also earned him the performance of the night honors. With this victory, the 28-year-old took his win-streak to 4-0 in as many fights.

Kenny Florian details what went wrong with Cub Swanson against Jonathan Martinez

Cub Swanson is a 41-fight MMA veteran with a career that has spanned over 18 years. The American has fought the who's who of the featherweight division in the process.

However, his bantamweight debut did not play out according to plans and he was clearly outclassed by a young Jonath Martinez. Swanson has now lost six of his last ten fights.

In the same episode of the Anik & Florian Podcast, Kenny Florian tried to analyze what went wrong with Cub Swanson's game in the main event of UFC Vegas 62:

"Cub looked extremely fast. I don't think speed was an issue for Cub necessarily on his part. The problem was his ability to read the speed of Martinez. I couldn't tell if it was Cub not reading very well [or] it was Cub beign exposed to that kind of lackadaisical stance."

Florian cited this as perhaps a mark of detoriation in Swanson's career and gave props to Jonathan Martinez:

"We have to give credit to Martinez and his power and his ability to leg kicks the spots were Cub was vulnerable. But, to me this seems like a detoriation in the skills of Cub Swanson. Maybe it's an injury, I hope that would be the case. But to me he didn't seem to be reading the right shots that Martinez was throwing."

One of only two fighters in history to compete in four different weight classes in the UFC, Florian also said that he feels for Swanson since his plans for a career revival with a move to bantamweight did not work out well.
