Jon Jones should be banned for life, GSP's coach explains why - "Why in MMA, you just get a slap on the wrist?
Jon Jones returned to the UFC following a three-year hiatus earlier this month. 'Bones' took on Ciryl Gane on his heavyweight debut and defeated the Frenchman in the very first round of the fight to become the new UFC heavyweight champion.
In the process, Jones also further cemented his name as arguably the GOAT of MMA. While there are very few who believe 'Bones' is not the GOAT, former UFC champion Georges St-Pierre's coach seems to have a strong stance in believing that he should not be considered the best to ever do it.
According to Firas Zahabi, Jon Jones' failed drug tests in the past should be enough to kick him out of the GOAT conversation. Moreover, Georges St-Pierre's coach believes that anybody who fails a drug test should be banned for life. He said:
"He's not the GOAT. You can't fail drug tests and be the GOAT. Like if you get caught with a hormone, I think you should be banned for life. It's irreversible by the way."
Firas Zahabi further stated:
"Why is it in cycling if you get caught, they ban you for life and they take all your medals. Everything you ever did in your career is gone. Why in MMA you just get a slap on your wrist."

Jon Jones claims Stipe Miocic is more "well-rounded" than Ciryl Gane
As mentioned earlier, Jon Jones returned to the UFC with an emphatic win over Ciryl Gane at UFC 285. Soon after being crowned the new UFC heavyweight champion, Jones proceeded to call out former champion Stipe Miocic. And from what it seems, 'Bones' and Miocic will most certainly enter the octagon later this year.
It is worth noting that Stipe Miocic has not fought for a long time and seems to be past his prime. However, Jon Jones is not taking the former UFC heavyweight champion lightly and in his head believes that Miocic is better than he's ever been. In a tweet, 'Bones' stated:
"In my head, he’s better than he’s ever been. He’s definitely a lot more experienced and well-rounded than Gane. This is an extremely important fight for both of our legacies, [and] I must treat it as such."
