Jon Jones buries beef with another former champion after his recent kind words for Daniel Cormier

After welcoming former foe Daniel Cormier to commentate on his heavyweight debut and praising the former two-division as a standup individual, Jon Jones now buries his beef with yet another former UFC champion.

In an interview with RMC Sport, the former light-heavyweight kingpin placed legendary lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov as one of his picks for the top five UFC fighters of all time.

'Bones' has on more than one occasion lashed out at the Dagestani, when he seemed to take away his spotlight. The American's long Twitter rant reacting to Nurmagomedov's request to be placed at the top of the pound-pound list after his retirement fight is something few MMA fans can forget.

I’ve won 15 world titles, he just won his 4th. The fact that this is even a conversation is mine blowing to me. twitter.com/jaymane1982/st…
I’m just going to ask for the heavyweight championship belt and see if they give it to me. Since we can just ask for things now 🤷🏾‍♂️

However, it seems that Jones never had any real animosity towards the former lightweight champion.

"I love what Khabib represents. We've had our differences in the past. I've made some quotes about him but there has really never been a real beef. I love the way carries himself as a Muslim, I love the way he represents his country. I love the businessman that he is.
"He just seems like a stand-up guy who he gives back to others... He's an admirable man. I appreciate his existence."

Chael Sonnen believes Ciryl Gane must "take control of the match to defeat Jon Jones

Chael Sonnen believes wrestling is not going to play the deciding factor in the upcoming UFC 285 title fight between Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane. 'The Bad Guy' feels that 'Bones' has utilized his grappling less throughout his UFC career.

Per Sonnen, the former light-heavyweight champion has resorted to employing kickboxing as his weapon of choice in recent years.

In a video on his YouTube channel, the 45-year-old opined that whoever "touches the other person first" will win the upcoming title fight, and as such he believes Gane's only path to victory is to lead the fight from the get-go.

"Ciryl must, absolutely must take control of this match in the opening frame. The first person to touch the other person is going to win this fight. If Jon Jones, like he always does, come out and kicks you in the mouth... If Jon Jones goes first, he'll put you on the defense no matter who you are.
"If you go out and put him on the defense... the one thing that everybody is scared to do because they respect Jon soo much [you might win the fight]... I don't think this is about striker vs. grappler... These two are a lot more even than you might think."
