Steveson then uploaded a picture of the two of them together on his Instagram account. In the comments section of the post, 'Bones' praised Steveson, labeling the 24-year-old as a future champion in the world of MMA:

"Future MMA heavyweight champion, mark my words."

An MMA account named @cstodaynews uploaded a screenshot of the picture and Jones' comment on X.

Jones has been out of action since March 2023. The 37-year-old is now set to make a comeback early next month. He will go toe-to-toe against former champion Stipe Miocic for the heavyweight throne at UFC 309.

The fight will headline the event, which will be held at the prestigious Madison Square Garden in New York.

Chael Sonnen speaks about Jon Jones' future in the UFC

Many in the MMA community have been speculating that Jon Jones might retire from MMA after his appearance at UFC 309. But former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen believes 'Bones' will continue his MMA journey after Nov. 16 and will possibly take on Tom Aspinall, who is set to serve as the back-up fighter for the UFC 309 headliner.

'The American Gangster' opined that regardless of the outcome at UFC 309, Jones will lock horns against Aspinall before parting ways with the sport:

"I don't believe [UFC 309] is going to be Jon's last fight. I don't believe a scenario that Jon Jones doesn't fight Tom Aspinall. I believe if Jon beats Stipe, he draws right into Tom Aspinall and doesn't flinch. But I know for sure if Jon loses to Stipe, Jon is going to draw right into Tom Aspinall and he's not even going to flinch. In fact, it's going to be Jon's idea."
