Jon Jones' brother Chandler Jones recently scored the match-winning touchdown for the Las Vegas Raiders in their clash against the New England Patriots on Sunday. With the match tied at 24-24, Chandler Jones intercepted a backward pass, ran over Patriots quarterback Mac Jones and 48 yards more to score the game-winning touchdown. It should be noted that the New England Patriots were the ones to draft Jones out of Syracuse University in 2012. The Raiders defensive end told reporters after the match:
“We were in like a desperado situation. We knew that there was zero time left on the clock. I think I saw Jakobi kind of spot up to throw it back. I was just trying to look for the nearest guy and Mac Jones was right there. I kind of just went up there and got it and broke the tackle and scored. The rest is history.”
When Chandler Jones claimed he could beat Jon Jones in a fight
The Jones brothers are undoubtedly an athletically gifted trio, with the eldest, Arthur Jones, also being an NFL Defensive Tackle (DE). While Jon Jones is an MMA G.O.A.T contender, Arthur and Chandler are no strangers to hand-to-hand combat either, having spent a lot of time wrestling each other in their childhood.
Chandler Jones once confidently claimed that he could beat 'Bones' in a fight when the latter was the UFC light heavyweight champion. The NFL DE did not think much of his elder brother's size, as he's used to tackling 300-pounders on a daily basis. Jones said in an interview with TMZ Sports dating back to 2019:
“Listen, he has the longest arms in the UFC. My arms are longer than his. That’s my brother, I love him to death, but I’ll kick his ass! I would wrestle him. I’m more strong than he is,” Chandler adds. “Listen, I’m not trying to brag, but I go against 300-pound men every day. Jon Bones is like, what, 235?”
