Jon Jones lavishes praise on Edson Barboza ahead of Lerone Murphy fight - "What a treat"
Jon Jones recently lavished praise on Edson Barboza ahead of his bout against Lerone Murphy. The bout is scheduled to headline UFC Fight Night 241, which takes place tomorrow night at the Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Brazilian has been competing since 2009 and has split time at both lightweight and featherweight. He has fought a number of contenders and former champions including Khabib Nurmagomedov, Anthony Pettis and Justin Gaethje, and known for his exciting fighting style and highlight reel knockouts.
The reigning heavyweight champion took notice of Barboza's abilities and at the same time, helped promote tomorrow's event. Jones took to his X account to heap praise on the Brazilian and mentioned that he has admired his striking, which has made him an exciting fighter to watch. He wrote:
"Always been a fan of this man's stand-up game for MMA, what a treat."

What made Jon Jones praise Edson Barboza?
Jon Jones lauded Edson Barboza after coming across the UFC's tweet showing a collection of clips along with the Brazilian speaking about tomorrow night's main event against Leron Murphy.
Barboza spoke about his love for being a UFC fighter and his career longevity. The 38-year-old mentioned that he still enjoys everything about the sport from the buildup, training camp and fight itself. He said:
"I had 29 fights in the UFC. To be honest, I like to stay in the octagon. I don't care [if] its going to be the first fight, I don't care [if] its gonna be main event, I love to fight...Still in the top-15 in [the] UFC, I don't think about retirement...I love my job. I still love every single day. When I wake up, I'm happy, hungry to go to the gym...I still [the] whole process."
