Jon Jones responds to rapper Lil Wayne being excited for his comeback
News of Jon Jones' return to MMA was enough for world-famous rapper Lil Wayne to renege on his decision to stop watching UFC events. The rapper felt that Alexander Volkanovski had been swindled out of a lightweight title at UFC 284 by the judges and stated that he may never watch UFC again.
But Weezy then found out that 'Bones' would be returning to the octagon next month and expressed his delight. Jones then responded to Lil Wayne's tweet with just three words.
Lil Wayne tweeted the following:
"Wait, Bones Jones komin bak?! Ok I lied... and u know I kant miss dat Pereira v Stylebender!!!! And Connor bak right?? Yeah I lied"
Jon Jones responded with:
"Real Recognize Real"

Jon Jones will make his return after more than three years away from the sport when he faces Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 in March. 'Bones' last fought Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 in February 2020. He felt the need to take adequate time to prepare his body for the transition to heavyweight and reportedly weighs roughly 250 lbs right now.
Jones has moved weight classes in a bid to become a two-division champion and add to the collection of incredible milestones he has achieved in the sport.
Jon Jones currently holds a number of UFC records, including the most successful and most consecutive title defenses in history, the longest unbeaten streak in history, and being the youngest champion in UFC history.
Jon Jones on whether or not Ciryl Gane is the best striker he has faced
Jon Jones will be welcomed to the heavyweight division by former interim champion Ciryl Gane in April.
'Bon Gamin' holds an undefeated Muay Thai record of 13-0, and prior to his loss to Francis Ngannou at UFC 270, he was undefeated in MMA as well. Gane is viewed as one of the best strikers in the heavyweight division. 'Bon Gamin' recently defeated fellow heavyweight star Tai Tuivasa with a brutal combination that illustrated the power and speed that the Frenchman possesses.
However, Jones doesn't believe that Gane is the best striker he has faced. 'Bones' named several previous opponents as contenders for the title when replying to a fan question on Twitter:
"No I don’t, Thiago Santos, Lyoto Machida the list goes on. I fought many guys who were nasty on their feet. Guys with very intimidating one strike knockout power. I feel pretty comfortable, and this is definitely not a kickboxing match."
