Jon Jones revisits getting fired from first-ever job - "Lowest thing ever"

The world we live in is definitely not all sunshine and rainbows, and Jon Jones got his first reality check on how unfair the world could be from his first job.

In a recent video posted to the UFC's Twitter handle, the former light-heavyweight champion shared a sour memory of getting fired from his first job as a paper boy. During one winter, 'Bones' and his brothers were hired by a female neighbor to deliver newspapers through a snow-covered route. However, once the snow cleared, she fired the Jones brothers and re-employed her sons along the same route.

According to Jon Jones, it was one of the first times he realized how unfair the world could be:

"My first job, I was a paper boy... Me and my brothers, all winter. The woman who hired us lived in this duplex building with us. She was our downstairs neighbor and her kids did paper routes as well. For the winter time, this lady hired me and my brothers. The paper route we'd walk through [had] snow that came up to our knees."

He added:

"We did a great job. Everyone got their papers, we were always on time... And as soon as the snow melted, she fired us and re-hired her kids, and put them back on the route. I thought that was the lowest thing ever. [It was] one of my first experiences of learning that this could be a very cold world."

Jon Jones says Ciryl Gane is the most "incomplete fighter" in the heavyweight top five

Jon Jones is set to face No.1-ranked contender Ciryl Gane in a heavyweight title clash at UFC 285 on Saturday, March 5, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

However, the former light heavyweight champion believes that the Frenchman is far from being a well-rounded fighter. According to Jones, Gane is the most incomplete fighter among the top five heavyweights.

During a media event for UFC 285, the 35-year-old suggested that Gane getting outworked on the ground by Francis Ngannou, who is not known for his grappling skills, speaks volumes about 'Bon Gamin's overall skill set:

"Ciryl is the most incomplete fighter in the top five right now. He has really good striking and he has really good footwork... But... he got tired in his last fight against Francis Ngannou... One or two takedowns, making him earn getting back to his feet, that tired him out big time."

Jon Jones added:

"Francis wins his fights by like first-round knockouts, second-round knockouts. Francis outworked Ciryl Gane... Since when did Francis become a guy who outworks others? His gift is knockout power. He got outworked by Francis, that tells me a lot."
