Jon Jones says he wouldn't be surprised if Curtis Blaydes defeats Tom Aspinall - "Huge piece of humble pie"
Jon Jones has continued his crusade against Tom Aspinall by claiming that he would not be surprised if the Englishman is beaten by Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304. Aspinall is currently scheduled to co-headline the pay-per-view, which takes place in his hometown of Manchester.
Aspinall defends his UFC interim heavyweight title against Blaydes, who is the only fighter to have ever beaten him in the promotion, albeit due to a freak injury. Regardless, Jones feels there could be another Aspinall defeat on the horizon, taking to X/Twitter to offer his prediction for the bout. He said:
"I wouldn't be surprised if Curtis won, i've seen scenarios like this time and time again. Dude prematurely drinking his own Kool-Aid ends up with a huge piece of humble pie. I mean if Sergei can touch Tom that easy, I'm sure Curtis can too. When Curtis decides to go, he's a lot faster than people realize, and he hits hard.
"A few well timed shots and that strong top game, it could be a long night for old Tommy boy. Either way, I'll be watching, excited to have some additional footage."
Despite his dismissal of Aspinall's skills, Jones seemed to imply a willingness to face the winner of the bout by claiming that regardless of the outcome, the UFC 304 will provide him with useful footage. For now, however, 'Bones' is expected to face Stipe Miocic, whom he has been adamant about fighting.
The pair's matchup is without an official date, as Jones is still working his way back from a severe pectoral tendon tear. Meanwhile, Aspinall faces Blaydes on July 27.

Aspinall was respectful throughout the entire encounter, but did request a face-off for a photo-op, which Jones politely declined. While not much has since come of it, it could be the foundation for a future clash, if Jones ever changes his tune.
