Jon Jones shares significant update on assault allegations by drug tester: "Thanks to the justice system"

Jon Jones recently shared an update on the assault allegations by the drug tester. It appears to be a positive outcome for the reigning UFC heavyweight champion but he needs to abide by certain conditions.

'Bones' is set to defend his heavyweight championship against Stipe Miocic next month at UFC 309, and the ongoing allegations won't distract him from his preparations. The allegations stem from an incident this past March at his home when two anti-doping agents from Drug Free Sports International requested a sample. He then allegedly threatened the female agent and took her phone.

The charges were dismissed, but, 'Bones' will be required to take four hours of anger management and obey the law for 90 days. Jones took to his X account to express gratitude to the justice system, stating that he is innocent and can now focus on his title defense:

"I would like to extend my thanks to the justice system for reaching a prompt resolution in this matter, which affirms my innocence and enables me to maintain my focus on the upcoming fight. I am eagerly anticipating the opportunity to defend my heavyweight title on November 16th at Madison Square Garden."

Ariel Helwani makes bold claim regarding Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic

Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic has been discussed as a potential retirement fight for both veterans, with most fans on social media expressing interest in Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall instead.

MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, on the other hand, recently weighed in on the UFC 309 main event and claimed it is a much closer fight. During the latest episode of The Ariel Helwani Show, he mentioned that Miocic could be motivated by the slander and being overlooked and can realistically pull off an upset:

"[Jones vs. Miocic is] a coin-flip fight. It's a 50-50 fight if you ask me. I really do believe that... All the things I've heard were very interesting...[Miocic] is not here to take part. Like, he's not here to just be a part of the heavyweight sweepstakes... I think we see motivated Stipe. I think we see super hero Stipe. I think we see fireman first responder Stipe, who wants to go out as the most decorated heavyweight champion of all time."
