Jon Jones shoe: How quickly did the first Nike 'Bones' edition sell out?
Jon Jones, widely considered the greatest MMA fighter of all time, achieved a major milestone in 2012 when he became the first UFC fighter to sign a sponsorship deal with global sports apparel giant Nike. The following year, Nike released a signature shoe inspired by the former UFC light heavyweight champion, called the Nike Free Trainer 5.0 Jon 'Bones' Jones.
According to reports, the shoes were an instant hit with fans, selling out just two minutes after their release. Jones' manager confirmed that the Jon Jones edition of the Nike Free Trainer 5.0 training shoe was also a massive success online, selling out within seconds of it being made available for purchase.
In addition to his signature shoes, Jones also had a Nike T-shirt released around the same time, which also proved to be extremely popular with fans. The shirt also sold out on the first day of its launch.
Unfortunately, Jon Jones' partnership with Nike was short-lived. After a highly-publicized brawl with fellow fighter Daniel Cormier during the build-up to their UFC 178 bout, rumors began to circulate that Nike had terminated their contract with Jones as a result of his actions. While the exact reasons for the split were never confirmed, the incident cast a shadow over Jones' reputation.

Contrary to initial rumors, the former LHW kingpin clarified that his partnership with Nike did not end due to his brawl with Daniel Cormier. Rather, it was because Nike was shifting away from the MMA market, and the company informed Jones that he would no longer receive the promotional perks that were initially promised to him, such as commercials.
