Jon Jones states possible reason for Mike Tyson's sudden mood change during recent selfie moment with fan

Jon Jones recently offered up his thoughts on a Mike Tyson video where the boxing great had a fairly rapid mood shift with a fan. The footage came from an Instagram account known as @traviscreate that captioned the clip,

"Asked @miketyson for a photo/ video. What a legendary moment. KEEP GOING."

In the video, Travis Nguyen, who helms the account, asked Tyson if he could get a video with him, and the former WBC heavyweight champion told him to chill out. The icon of the sweet science said he wasn't doing it tonight, but after Nguyen acquiesced, Tyson seemed to shift temperaments and invited him to sit down to record a video together.

Many in the combat sports world took notice of this, including the reigning UFC heavyweight champion. Taking to the comment section of this video, Jon Jones stated,

"Mike gave him a test and he passed, that's exactly what that was. Cool to see."

Jon Jones and Mike Tyson's social media interactions

Jon Jones and Mike Tyson have had online interactions in 2024 that aren't just isolated to this situation. The two crossed paths in a more direct way at the PFL vs Bellator card from February as the pair stopped for a photo-op at the Riyadh-based card.

The 37-year-old was on the mend from a pectoral injury at the time that had scrapped an initially Stipe Miocic title fight for November of last year. Tyson had posted a photo of himself with Jones to his Instagram in Q1 of this year with Jones taking to the comment section to speak on the meeting of the two heavyweight greats from different combat sports.

'Bones' took to that IG post to heap praise on 'Iron' Mike by touching on how he is always honored to be in the presence.

The Rochester native also had video footage dating back to 2014 where Jones and Tyson engaged in an exchange of playful strikes. The two combat sports figures were laughing with each other and there was clearly a jovial atmosphere coupled with respect between the icons.
