Jon Jones tells off a cheering crowd with three-word remark as Dana White confirms winner of Stipe Miocic fight "should absolutely fight" Tom Aspinall
Dana White recently confirmed that the winner of the Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic fight will face Tom Aspinall next, sending fans into a frenzy. After White announced his plans at the UFC 309 pre-fight presser, fans cheered loudly before Jones shushed them with a three-word response.
Jones and Miocic are set to throw down in a heavyweight title fight at UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden in New York this weekend. In the weeks leading up to the event, interim heavyweight champion Aspinall has consistently called out Jones for a title-unifying fight. However, 'Bones' doesn't appear too keen on that fight and has largely dismissed a potential bout against the Englishman.
As a result, Jones has come under fire from many who believe he's purposely avoiding Aspinall and is ducking a fight against him. This fan sentiment was apparent at the UFC 309 pre-fight presser after White responded to a reporter's question and confirmed:
"The winner [Jones vs. Miocic] should absolutely fight Tom."
His statement caused a fan uproar, with many cheering on Aspinall and chanting his name while taunting Jones. After a short while, 'Bones' silenced them, saying:
"Knock it off"
Tom Aspinall says Jon Jones is "scared" of losing" to him ahead of UFC 309
Tom Aspinall recently shared his thoughts on a potential Jon Jones fight and opined that 'Bones' is afraid of facing him. As mentioned, the Englishman has been asking for a title-unifying fight against the reigning UFC heavyweight champion for a while now.
In a recent video uploaded to YouTube, Aspinall reacted to Jones dismissing his resume and his wins. Slamming Jones' comments, the Englishman said:
"So Jon said I need to fight more champions, but this is the problem I've got. Jon is the champion, and he won't fight me. He says that he won't fight me because it's too much of a gamble... And Jon, if you're not into gambling your legacy, that to me sounds like you're scared of losing against me."
