"Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier 3" - UFC lightweight makes WWE-esque prediction for 'Bones' return
The rivalry between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier was legendary, and some might even call it the fiercest feud in UFC history. The two men faced off twice as light heavyweights in their careers, with 'Bones' winning their first contest and having his second victory over 'DC' overturned into a no-contest due to a steroid violation.
Unsurprisingly, rising UFC lightweight Terrance McKinney wants to see their trilogy fight happen. With the bitter rivalry between Jones and Cormier producing two supremely entertaining fights, MMA fans have often wondered how a third contest between them would turn out.
Jon Jones is set to return to the UFC octagon in his heavyweight debut against Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 this weekend. The two men will fight for the vacant heavyweight title at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. With 'Bones' returning for a title fight, 'T Wrecks' dreams of a surprise backup fighter.
In a recent tweet, the 28-year-old American wrote a script for a hypothetical Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier trilogy fight. McKinney tweeted his dramatic plot twist like a WWE event:
"Arena goes dark. 'DC' descends from the rafters. Rip's off his tie and suit. JJ x DC 3."
Jon Jones next fight: 'Bones' quashes beef with Daniel Cormier ahead of UFC 285
Ahead of his title fight at UFC 285, Jon Jones has reflected on his rivalry with Daniel Cormier, and it appears he's willing to bury the hatchet once and for all.
The former champions were part of arguably the biggest rivalry in UFC history, competing against each other twice in title fights. The build-up to their bouts was defined by personal insults, vile tirades, and even death threats. Despite having the opportunity to face each other in the octagon, Jones and Cormier infamously brawled during a face-off before their first meeting in 2015.
Nevertheless, Jon Jones wants to put all of that behind him. When it was reported that Daniel Cormier would reprise his role as a cage-side commentator for UFC 285, Jones posted a series of tweets welcoming the idea.

In an interview with RMC Sport, Jones reiterated his intentions to make peace with Cormier. 'Bones' stated:
"I can never say that I actually ever hated 'DC', I just really wanted to beat him. After beating him, there's a respect you just naturally have for the guy... When the fight is over, the beef is over...I do forgive Daniel Cormier for anything negative he's ever said about me and I'd hope he forgives me as well."
