"Jon Jones will be the smaller man"- Andrew Schulz unpacks "really interesting" dynamics of potential Jon Jones vs. Alex Pereira matchupÂ
Andrew Schulz recently unpacked a potential matchup between Jon Jones and Alex Pereira and shared his thoughts on who would have the physical advantage. The comedian noted that the Brazilian would actually be the larger competitor despite competing at light heavyweight.
Since 'Bones' successfully retained his heavyweight championship against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, there has been plenty of discussion on who could possibly defeat him.
Tom Aspinall has been who fans have been clamoring for, however, Jones had instead expressed interest in fighting Pereira. There has been an ongoing debate on whether the Brazilian would pose a threat due to a significant gap in wrestling and grappling, but Schultz believes it is still very intriguing.
During an episode of his FLAGRANT podcast last month, the comedian weighed in on a potential champion vs. champion bout and didn't buy into the talks of the light heavyweight champion not being strong enough for heavyweight. Schulz highlighted that area in which Jones vs. Pereira would be intriguing and mentioned that 'Poatan' is naturally a heavyweight fighter:
"The really interesting fight [for Jones] is Pereira for sure...He's by far the biggest draw right now...Probably 225 [pounds] he walks around, he loses weight to get down to when he was fighting at middleweight...or when he's fighting at 205 [pounds]...I actually think that Jon Jones would be the smaller man that night in the ring. Because, Jon has put on all this weight. Alex's body hasn't changed at all." [2:02:13]

Andrew Schulz doesn't believe Jon Jones is ducking Tom Aspinall
In addition to weighing in on a potential Jon Jones vs. Alex Pereira bout, Andrew Schulz dismissed claims that 'Bones' is ducking Tom Aspinall.
During the aforementioned episode, Schulz said:
"Jones doesn't duck. I respect what [Tom] Aspinall is doing in terms of he's trying to build a fight, so he's just saying anything he could say to get people interested...Jones is not afraid of anybody. There's nobody on the planet [that he is] afraid of." [2:01:06 in the aforementioned interview]
