“Jon knows how big it is” - Freddie Haggerty says two-sport champ Jonathan Haggerty understands massive assignment against Superlek
English Muay Thai sensation Freddie Haggerty believes his older brother, reigning ONE bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty, will have his toughest test yet in ONE Championship next month.
In fact, the Haggerty siblings know exactly how massive this next fight is, and both men acknowledge what is needed to win it.
'The General' is set to face megastar Superlek at the upcoming ONE 168 in the United States. Even though he's the champion, fans see him as a live underdog against the dangerous Thai.
Freddie and Jonathan are preparing for an absolute barnburner at the Ball Arena. The younger Haggerty told ONE Championship:
"It’s massive. Jon knows how big it is. Everyone regards Superlek as the pound-for-pound greatest, so to beat Superlek and get revenge from the first fight would be huge."
Despite being the two-sport world titleholder, many doubt Jonathan Haggerty's ability to beat Superlek, having already lost to 'The Kicking Machine' in 2018 outside of ONE Championship.
Now, the two are set for an epic rematch with the gold on the line.

Two-sport world titleholder 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty wants to silence naysayers yet again when he enters the ring in his second defense of the gold.
The Team Underground representative is set to defend his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title against flyweight kickboxing world champion 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 of Thailand.
The two lock horns at ONE 168: Denver, which will broadcast live from the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado on Friday, September 6.
