Jonathan Di Bella wants in on ONE's Denver or Atlanta show if he reclaims gold vs Prajanchai on June 28
Jonathan Di Bella hopes to fight in North America after potentially regaining his ONE strawweight kickboxing world title.
On April 5, Di Bella was supposed to defend his strawweight kickboxing throne against Prajanchai in the ONE Friday Fights 58 main event. Unfortunately, the undefeated Canadian-Italian endured a brutally botched weight cut and was rushed to the hospital after being stripped of his world title on the scales.
Di Bella looks to regain his strap when he faces Prajanchai in the ONE Friday Fights 68 main event on June 28. During an interview with Calf Kick Sports, the 27-year-old had this to say about wanting to fight in North America if he defeats the ONE strawweight Muay Thai world champion later this month:
"It's hard to think about that because I've only been thinking about him right now. So, I don't know. There's always contenders I want to fight. So whoever is next in line, I don't mind. I don't care. As long as I defend it on North American soil next."
ONE Championship has two North American events taking place in 2024 - September 6 in Denver, Colorado (ONE 168) and November 8 in Atlanta, Georgia (ONE 170). It'll be intriguing to see if Jonathan Di Bella is added to either event.
