Jonathan Di Bella not worried about keeping unbeaten streak: “I don’t fight to protect my record”

Canadian-Italian former ONE strawweight kickboxing world champion Jonathan Di Bella couldn't give a rip about his professional record. The 27-year-old from Montreal is willing to risk his 'O' for the biggest prize in his sport -- the ONE Championship world title.

In a recent interview with Bolasport, Di Bella said professional records don't matter and used his upcoming opponent, Prajanchai, as the primary example.

The Team Di Bella Kickboxing product said:

"I really don't care about records, you know. I don't mind them. I don't care about records or anybody's record, like it doesn't matter for me. Because look at Prajanchai, he has like 400 fights, you know? And out of the 400 fights he only has like 40 losses or something like that. I don't fight to protect my record because I want to fight the best in the world and I want to be the best."

Jonathan Di Bella is set to face ONE strawweight Muay Thai world champion Prajanchai PK Saenchai for the vacant ONE strawweight kickboxing world title.

The two lock horns in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 68: Prajanchai vs. Di Bella, which broadcasts live from the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, June 28.

Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action live on global pay-per-view at watch.ONEFC.com.

Jonathan Di Bella says it's anybody's game against Prajanchai at ONE Friday Fights 68: "I think it’s an even fight"

Jonathan Di Bella isn't at all intimidated by Prajanchai PK Saenchai's experience in the ring. The Thai icon has reportedly had over 400 official fights, and that doesn't even count the early fights in his career that were not recorded.

That being said, the Canadian-Italian former champion believes it's the skills that pay the bills.

Di Bella told ONE Championship:

"I think it’s an even fight because he has good boxing and he has over 400 fights I believe. So I think he has a lot more experience than me. So yeah, I think it’s going to be an even fight and a good fight."
