Jonathan Haggerty admits he was unsure of success at bantamweight before division switch

UK superstar Jonathan Haggerty is a man of confidence, but he also has his moment of doubts after experiencing a tough break in his career.

Before claiming the ONE bantamweight Musy Thai and kickboxing world title, Haggerty was unsure of his choices when he first stepped up from the flyweight division to face Vladimir Kuzmin.

He recalled that moment after being humbled twice by the ONE flyweight Muay Thai king Rodtang Jitmuangnon, and he shared it in a recent video dubbed as Retrospect with Jonathan Haggerty.

In the video, 'The General' said:

"We sat down and said, what if I go to MMA, bantamweight, or bantamweight Muay Thai? And the decision was to go to bantamweight Muay Thai."

"So yeah, this was my bantamweight debut in ONE Championship against Vladimir Kuzmin. This was a very close fight. In my opinion, it was the closest fight I've had."

In that showdown, Haggerty proved himself in having a heart of champion by defeating Kuzmin after three hard rounds.

And now, he feels ready to head into his bantamweight Muay Thai world title defense against Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 168 in Denver, Colorado on Sept. 6.
