Jonathan Haggerty believes fight fans will be the biggest winner in Superlek war: “They’re going to have an explosive fight”

No matter who's hand gets raised, two-sport superstar Jonathan Haggerty believes the biggest winner at ONE 168: Denver will be the fans.

After scoring a sensational third-round knockout against Felipe Lobo in February, 'The General' will return to the main event spotlight on Friday, September 6 to put his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship on the line against the current ONE flyweight kickboxing king, Superlek.

Haggerty and Superlek will close the show when ONE makes its long-awaited return to the United States with a loaded ONE 168: Denver fight card featuring some of the biggest names in all of combat sports.

Speaking with the promotion ahead of their highly anticipated headliner, Haggerty believes that no matter who comes out on top, fans are guaranteed an explosive clash between the two titleholders. Haggerty told ONE:

"They’re going to have an explosive fight. They’re going to have an exciting night. I’m excited for the fans just to see me and Superlek come together."

Jonathan Haggerty faces his toughest test yet against flyweight kickboxing titleholder Superlek

Jonathan Haggerty goes into his second defense of the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai title riding a six-fight win streak, including a trio of highlight-reel KOs against Thai legend Nong-O Hama, ONE bantamweight MMA world champion Fabricio Andrade, and the aforementioned 'Demolition Man' Felipe Lobo.

But with all due respect to those talents, 'The General' has never faced an opponent as dangerous as Superlek.

'The Kicking Machine' rides into The Centennial State having won his last 10 bouts with his most noteworthy win coming against 'The Iron Man' Rodtang Jitmuangnon—the man who defeated Haggerty not once, but twice during their iconic feud at flyweight.

Superlek also has wins over Japanese kickboxing icon Takeru Segawa and Thai prospect Kongthoranee Sor Sommai, establishing himself as a legitimate threat in four—and eight-ounce gloves.

Will Superlek add another world champion to this hitlist and establish himself as ONE's next two-sport king, or will Jonathan Haggerty continue to dominate the bantamweight Muay Thai division with an iron fist?
