Jonathan Haggerty believes Superlek will be at a 'disadvantage' with back-to-back fights in different weight classes
Jonathan Haggerty explained why Superlek could be facing a disadvantage in their upcoming world title super-fight.
On Sept. 6, a must-see matchup will occur at ONE 168: Denver, as Haggerty looks to defend his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title. The UK superstar's latest challenge is ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek, who is coming off wins against Rodtang Jitmuangnon (Muay Thai) and Takeru Segawa (kickboxing).
Before facing Haggerty, Superlek is scheduled for a non-title flyweight Muay Thai fight against Kongthoranee Sor Sommai, which goes down on June 28 at ONE Friday Fights 68.
During an interview with Sportskeeda, 'The General' had this to say about his upcoming opponent fighting at flyweight before their flyweight clash:
"I feel it's a little bit of a disadvantage for him because he's got to shrink his body to 61 kilos, while I feel like he should be building up and bulking up for the bantamweight division sorta weight. So we'll see how he plays out."
ONE Friday Fights 68 will take place inside the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The June 28 event can be seen by North American Viewers who have purchased the pay-per-view.

What's at stake between Jonathan Haggerty and Superlek at ONE 168?
Jonathan Haggerty and Superlek will determine the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion at ONE 168.
With that said, there are more stakes than gold, as Haggerty and Superlek have established themselves as promotional legends. Therefore, a win on June 28 would strengthen their resumes as the greatest pound-for-pound striker.
It should also be noted that 'The Kicking Machine' holds a win against Haggerty. In October 2018, Superlek defeated 'The General' in a kickboxing match by a second-round doctor's stoppage at YOKKAO 31.
The reigning ONE bantamweight Muay Thai king now looks to avenge the loss and retain his throne.
ONE 168: Denver goes down inside the Ball Arena in Colorado. Tickets for ONE's return to North America can be found here.
