Jonathan Haggerty eager to ‘get revenge’ on Superlek: “That’s all that matters”
British superstar Jonathan Haggerty clearly has a score to settle against Superlek Kiatmoo9 on his mind, especially after waiting for quite some time.
The ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion is set to defend his belt against his old rival, who is also the ONE flyweight kickboxing king, in the biggest match in their career so far at ONE 168, on September 6.
Already deep in preparation, Haggerty also found out that Superlek will first fight Kongthoranee Sor Sommai at the latest blockbuster edition of ONE's weekly series, ONE Friday Fights, next week.
When interviewed in ONE on SK podcast on what happens if Kongthoranee beat Superlek, Haggerty simply said:
"Everybody knows that Superlek is one of the pound-for-pound greats, and I'm just happy to be able to fight him and get revenge back after the last fight. That's all that matters."
Interestingly, Haggerty also hinted of making an appearance in the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium when his rival is fighting at ONE Friday Fights 68 on June 28.

Jonathan Haggerty roots for younger brother Freddie Haggerty
As Jonathan Haggerty is at his peak, his younger sibling Freddie wants to follow the footsteps of his world champion brother.
ONE fans might be familiar with 'The General' as he has become one of the mainstays in this promotion, but Freddie marked his debut with a stellar performance at ONE Friday Fights 49 with a second-round finish.
And soon, the 19-year-old prospect and Haggerty's coach, Christian Knowles, will be joining the two-sport king in his preparation for a massive ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title defense at ONE 168 on September 6.
Speaking to ONE on SK podcast, Haggerty stated:
"Christian [Knowles] is going to be joining us shortly. And also my little brother is going to be joining me as well. He's going to be fighting shortly as well. He's gonna be fighting soon."
