Jonathan Haggerty eager to shut Nico Carrillo up for good after Superlek fight: "Give him a bit of what he deserves"
Two-sport world champion Jonathan Haggerty plans to face Superlek Kiatmoo9, Nico Carrillo, and Wei Rui in his next three world title fights.
On Sept. 6, Haggerty looks to defend his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title at ONE 168: Denver against ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek. 'The General' isn't overlooking his upcoming battle with the Thai superstar, but he did reveal who he wants to fight later this year if he wins.
The No. 1-ranked bantamweight Muay Thai contender, Carrillo has continuously called out Haggerty for a title shot. During an interview with Sportskeeda, the two-sport world champion responded by saying:
"For now, I'm set on shutting Nico up, give him a bit of what he deserves. Also, I want to defend my kickboxing belt against the new number one-ranked contender."
In November 2023, Haggerty knocked out Fabricio Andrade to claim the vacant ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title. As mentioned above, the UK superstar wants to defend his throne for the first time against number one-ranked Wei Rui, who defeated Hiroki Akimoto in his promotional debut.
Haggerty's upcoming fight against Superlek goes down inside the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. Tickets for the highly-anticipated event can be found here.
