Jonathan Haggerty shares experience training with Arnold Allen, celebrating wins together
Jonathan Haggerty has discussed his training experience with UFC featherweight contender Arnold Allen.
Allen has made a name for himself in the UFC with ten consecutive wins in the featherweight division. Meanwhile, Haggerty is among the most exciting fighters on the ONE Championship roster. With both fighters training in England, they recently had an opportunity to work together. ‘The General’ had this to say when asked about the experience by The MMA Super-Fan:
“It was a pleasure to spar with him, he’s really well-rounded. It was a few months back, and yeah, it was just good to just get the experience, you know? It was a pleasure for him to come down to my gym also.”
Haggerty was then asked about Allen’s recent fight against Calvin Kattar and being excited when a training partner gets a win:
“Yeah, 100 percent. It just shows that you train with the best to be the best. It’s a good feeling. We all win under the same team so we all celebrate together.”
Haggerty hasn’t had the best 2022. He's had to pull out of two fights, including the ONE flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix. ‘The General’ could turn things around in his new division with a bantamweight Muay Thai showdown against Vladimir Kuzmin at ONE on Prime Video 4.

Jonathan Haggerty says transition to MMA could be ‘real soon’
Jonathan Haggerty has shown interest in transitioning to MMA. After hearing about the former ONE world champion training with Arnold Allen, speculation about the transition coming sooner rather than later started spreading. During the same interview, Haggerty had this to say about training MMA:
"With the MMA sparring, I wouldn’t obviously do it while I’m in fight camp. I just do it when I’m out of fight camp just to keep active. Who knows, I could be going into MMA real soon. So just to get the rounds in, getting used to it, its no harm. But like I said, I won’t be doing that in fight camp."
Haggerty fighting MMA would be must-see action, assuming his grappling wouldn’t be exploited. ‘The General’ has business to take care of before worrying about transitioning to MMA. Vladimir Kuzmin is not an easy opponent, and he’s looking to take out the former flyweight champion at ONE on Prime Video 4.
