Jonathan Haggerty gives his full support for old rival Liam Harrison’s farewell fight: “I’ll be there”

Jonathan Haggerty plans to be in attendance when Liam Harrison wraps up his career.

After more than two years on the shelf, 'Hitman' returned to the Circle at ONE 168: Denver for a scrap with Thai icon Seksan Or Kwanmuang. Sadly, things did not go Harrison's way. 'The Man Who Yields To No One' finished the former Muay Thai world champion just before the two-minute mark of the second round.

While appearing on the Sky Sports MMA Club podcast, Haggerty threw his full support behind Harrison and vowed to be there to see him close out his career in their home country:

"Yeah, I’m gonna watch for sure, if it’s in the O2, I feel like he has shows there, so if it’s on the O2, I’ll be there".

Jonathan Haggerty hopeful that he can one day reclaim the bantamweight Muay Thai title

Many fans had hoped to see Haggerty and Harrison square off before the 'Hitman' called it a career. Instead, it looks like Haggerty will remain focused on trying to regain the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship.

'The General' walked into ONE 168: Denver as a two-sport titleholder, carrying both the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai belt and the ONE bantamweight kickboxing crown.

49 seconds into his main event scrap with Superlek Kiatmoo9, Haggerty was relieved of his duties as the bantamweight Muay Thai champion.

On being asked about potentially reclaiming the bantamweight Muay Thai strap, Haggerty said:

"I think we can still definitely get it. I’m still a champ. I’m still the kickboxing world champion. So I still got one belt, I know I had two, but now I have one."
