Jonathan Haggerty on last year’s Fabricio Andrade win: Kickboxing rule set is "an easier version of Thai boxing"
Reigning and undisputed ONE bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty of the United Kingdom says beating Fabricio Andrade for the vacant kickboxing strap last year was a walk in the park.
The brash and confident Englishman even went as far as to say that kickboxing is just an easier version of Muay Thai.
Haggerty said in a video shared on his official YouTube channel:
"So it was a great fight, but I really went to put a full stop on him. The way he was talking, he was talking a lot of shit. So I was very hyped up for this fight, motivated again. I could adapt. My style is more like a kickboxer, if I'm totally honest. So when they offered me the fight, I thought it's just going to be an easier version of Thai boxing, because there's no elbows to look out for."
While the 27-year-old Team Underground representative did have a relatively easy night against Andrade in Nov. 2023, Haggerty returns to the 'art of eight limbs' for his next fight against a worthy opponent, one that's already beaten him before.
