Jonathan Haggerty pinpoints the biggest advantage he had over Nong-O: "The right hand was just a little bit too strong for him"
Jonathan Haggerty believes his right hand was all that mattered in his iconic victory over Muay Thai legend Nong-O Hama.
The Londoner went toe-to-toe with the striking icon, who had looked unstoppable and reigned as the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai king with seven successful defenses heading into their ONE Fight Night 9 showdown.
However, history did little to prevent 'The General' from putting on a show and punching himself to a first-round finish of the Evolve MMA representative for his first highlight-reel win on the global stage.
Revisiting the victory – that set him on a path of two-sport glory last year – Jonathan Haggerty had this to say in a clip on his YouTube channel:
"Training stepped up a gear, stepped up a level. And I think this fight just showed. I fought, sort of like a kickboxer for this fight. I felt my style, my technique. I just don't think he could cope. I think the right hand was just a little bit too strong for him."

Next, the Knowlesy Academy and Team Underground star will put it on the line against Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 168: Denver, which marks the promotion's on-ground return to North America.
