Jonathan Haggerty’s confidence at all-time high ahead of title fight with Superlek: “I believe I will stop him”

Jonathan Haggerty is ready to defend one of his two ONE world titles against all odds when he faces ONE flyweight kickboxing king Superlek Kiatmoo9 on September 6.

As the world's largest martial arts organization returns to the U.S. soil with ONE 168: Denver inside the Ball Arena, Haggerty's bantamweight Muay Thai title is on the line, and he feels ready to go all out in this occasion.

The British superstar is no stranger to tough challengers, such as former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai king and Thai legend Nong-O Hama, whom he defeated in spectacular fashion in April last year.

Although Jonathan Haggerty lost his first match with Superlek via doctor's stoppage, he feels that this time, he's in the right headspace and condition to take another win and prolong his streak as a two-sport world champion.

Speaking in a televised interview with Sky Sports News, which he featured in his own video dubbed Road To Superlek Ep. 1: London, 'The General' shared his thoughts about the progress he has made:

"100% got the experience now. When I first fought with him, I probably had about 13 fights. Now, I've got the experience, I've got both the belts, and I believe I will stop him. I will beat him for sure."

Superlek sends stern warning to Jonathan Haggerty

There is a possibility that only a few fans knew that Jonathan Haggerty and Superlek Kiatmoo9 had fought each other in 2018 as part of a Yokkao event. The latter won via doctor's stoppage.

As they prepare for the epic ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title fight at ONE 168: Denver for the first time under ONE, Superlek wanted to remind Haggerty of that losing moment.

The Thai superstar told Sportskeeda MMA recently:

"I also believe that I have made huge improvements since the last time he fought me. I've been with ONE for a while, and I have grown comfortable with the style and the smaller gloves."

Tickets for ONE 168: Denver are available via Ticketmaster.
