Jonathan Haggerty wants to leave a lasting impression on American fans in US debut - "That's what I'm coming to do"
Jonathan Haggerty is determined to become a household name in the United States when he makes his Denver debut this September at ONE 168.
The two-sport world champion scored the biggest upset in Muay Thai and kickboxing history when he defeated long-reigning bantamweight Muay Thai kingpin Nong-O Hama for his 26lbs gold, and MMA world titleholder Fabricio Andrade for the vacant ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title in back-to-back KO fashion.
Haggerty, therefore, hopes to continue his legacy in ONE Championship with another show-stopping performance against one of Muay Thai's best pound-for-pound strikers, 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9.
A victory against the flyweight kickboxing kingpin in the US would position Haggerty at a level he has never reached before. This is the motivating drive for his success: to return to the United States as a conquering hero. He told The Sporting News:
"[When it's over]. I want the US fans to be saying 'we want him back, we want Haggerty back.' That's what I'm coming to do."
Watch Jonathan Haggerty defend his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title against ONE flyweight kickboxing world titleholder Superlek Kiatmoo9 on September 6 via Amazon Prime Video.

Jonathan Haggerty asserts that ONE Championship has the most dangerous fighters in the world
Jonathan Haggerty asserts that every fight he's had in ONE Championship has been far from a cakewalk.
The 27-year-old superstar is the best in the world because he's challenged the best fighters in the world. There would be no growth whatsoever if he hadn't touched gloves with ONE superstars Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Nong-O Hama, or Fabricio Andrade - on their own, they were all very difficult opponents.
That's one of the many reasons why Haggerty isn't going anywhere. The British fighter is the No.1 opponent to beat in two world-class sports, Muay Thai and kickboxing, so he'll live out the end of his career defending the two against his most dangerous foes.
'The General' told ONE Championship:
"I'm in the best organization in the world now, there's no easy fights."
