"Jones dropping paragraphs like my angry ex" - Former Bellator fighter trolls 'Bones' for his take on how a Tom Aspinall fight would pan out
Tom Aspinall has recently been dismissed as a challenging fight by heavyweight king Jon Jones, prompting ex-Bellator welterweight Dillon Danis to poke fun at 'Bones.' In a lengthy X/Twitter statement, Jones claimed that despite the weight disadvantage between him and Aspinall, he would still beat him.
While he stopped just short of agreeing to fight Aspinall to prove his assertions, Jones claimed that he will continue to do what he always has, which is win. However, his statement has hardly won his detractors over, who are growing increasingly frustrated with his apparent disinterest in fighting Aspinall.
Danis, who has taunted Jones at various points in the past, including a sensational claim that he would beat 'Bones' in a street fight due to his Brazilian jiu-jitsu credentials, popped up in the comment section of an ESPN MMA Instagram post sharing Jones' Aspinall tweets.
Naturally, Danis had nothing positive to say about Jones, mocking the UFC heavyweight champion for the large size of his tweet.

Despite widespread backlash aimed at his upcoming championship bout with heavyweight great Stipe Miocic, 'Bones' has refused to budge on his desire to face Miocic over Aspinall, even with the MMA fandom openly expressing their dissatisfaction with him.
Unfortunately for those dreaming of a Jones vs. Aspinall matchup, even UFC CEO Dana White appears to be pushing it to the background for now. He instead favors the planned Jones vs. Miocic heavyweight title fight, certain that Jones will unify the belts with Aspinall, who is the interim champion, if he beats Miocic.
Tom Aspinall has shifted his approach to securing a Jon Jones fight
While Tom Aspinall initially conducted himself in a respectful manner, hoping to earn a title fight with Jon Jones out of goodwill, it failed to pan out. Frustrated with Jones' constant dismissals of him, Aspinall shifted gears and has started trash-talking the MMA GOAT. In fact, he recently referenced the latter's PED failures.
"Jon's right, he's won so many more world championships than me........... while using PED's"
Whether this will earn him a title fight with Jones remains to be seen, but Aspinall has not let it up. He previously mocked Jones' retirement plans by claiming that he will retire the former without ever even fighting him.
