Jorge Masvidal says he's "lost all respect" for Nate Diaz after chaotic press conference brawl: "It was all premeditated"

Jorge Masvidal has revisited the recent brawl between his and Nate Diaz's teams. 'Gamebred' criticized Diaz for the brawl and has seemingly alleged that it was premeditated.

In their MMA bout at UFC 244 (Nov. 2019), Masvidal defeated Diaz via third-round TKO. The fight was waved off by the octagon-side doctor, citing a cut over Diaz's eye. Diaz departed the UFC in Sept. 2022, whereas Masvidal retired from MMA in April 2023.

Presently, they're set to clash in a boxing match on July 6, 2024. During a promotional press conference earlier this month (June 2024), Team Diaz and Team Masvidal got into a massive brawl. Members from Diaz's entourage notably engaged Masvidal and one of his boxing coaches, Jorge Capetillo, in the middle of the brawl. Thankfully, security personnel intervened and swiftly broke up the brawl.

Masvidal later expressed his respect for Capetillo while emphasizing that Team Diaz shouldn't have attacked the older gentleman. Furthermore, speaking to MMA Mania, Masvidal has now asserted that he's lost respect for Diaz after the brawl. Jibing at Diaz for staying out of it, the Miami native stated:

"It's not that there's more heat. It's just I've lost all respect for him. He had his guys attack my coach, which is almost 50 years old, he's not a pro fighter. He's obviously been at every press conference with me, sitting alongside. You know that's my coach."

He added:

"And you had your two gim*s attack him; one of them being a pro fighter, and the other one that's some punk-a** 20-year-old, 30-year-old. Man, I don't even have words for it. You're just a coward. And you [Diaz] took off. You didn't even save face for your people. Your people getting f**king mopped up."

Masvidal further harked back to Diaz's claims that he'd have won the fourth and fifth rounds of their UFC 244 matchup if the doctor hadn't stopped the fight. Questioning why Diaz didn't perform well in the first three rounds of their MMA bout, 'Gamebred' implied that he'll dominantly defeat him in their boxing match as well.

Jorge Masvidal suggests the brawl was preplanned by Nate Diaz and his team

Jorge Masvidal highlighted that Nate Diaz's group initiated the brawl but ended up getting hurt, whereas none of his (Masvidal's) teammates went to the hospital. He acknowledged Diaz's toughness and endurance as a fighter but labeled him a cowardly leader for not joining his team in the brawl. Masvidal also claimed the brawl was preplanned by Team Diaz.

Masvidal later conducted some research on them. The MMA veteran believes that they'd come there with the intention of inciting a brawl. Diaz, who was visibly irate after the brawl, hasn't responded to Masvidal's allegation. 'Gamebred' said:

"It was all premeditated. We did some research, and I saw what his guys were posting before, during, and after. It was all kind of like premeditated. So, it just shows me the level of coward he is."
