Jose Aldo confirms rumored prank Conor McGregor pulled on him, details his current relationship with the Irishman
Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo took the UFC to a different level when they fought at UFC 194 in 2015. The Irishman brought out the best of his trash talk, learning Portuguese words and coming up with the most creative insults to get under his opponent's skin.
When they finally shared the octagon, McGregor knocked Aldo out in 13 seconds of the first round to become the UFC featherweight champion. Since their fight, Conor McGregor has always spoken highly of the Brazilian and shown support for Aldo in all his fights. In a recent interview, Jose Aldo spoke about their current relationship:
"I do have a lot of respect for him, we're friends, you know we even follow each other on Instagram, we exchange dialgoue there and some fans sometimes come up to me and say do you feel like beating McGregor or something and I say how can I do that, that's the guy who gave me the most money."
He also spoke about a prank that the Irishman played on him during their feud:
"We were in the Red Rock.. in Vegas annd we were like window to window, and that was the night that I beat Frankie Edgar. So he just sent it out (Red Panties) as a light hearted joke."
Aldo went on to say that he did not do anything about it but joked that maybe he'll ask his wife to wear it for him someday. The Brazilian was speaking to the media after being introduced to the Hall of Fame in his home country.

Conor McGregor reacts to Jose Aldo getting inducted into the 2023 Hall of Fame
The first PPV of the year took place in Brazil with two title fights on the line. Before the action began, however, Aldo was announced as the first person to be inducted into the 2023 UFC Hall of Fame. He was present in the crowd and could not hold back the tears as his name was announced throughout the stadium.
His former foe Conor McGregor responded to the news by saying:
"Earned!"
Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo seem to have put their past behind them and now have a cordial relationship with the pair texting each other on Instagram. The Irishman was happy for his former opponent who got what he deserved after his years of dominance in the UFC.
