Jozef Chen expects to be tested to the fullest against world-class Tye Ruotolo: “Everyone knows he’s at that level”

ONE Championship newcomer Jozen Chef expects reigning ONE welterweight submission grappling world champion Tye Ruotolo to test his every limit when the two BJJ stars square off this Friday night in The Land of Smiles.

Making his highly anticipated debut on July 5, Chen will step inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand for a catchweight submission grappling showdown with the unbeaten Tye Ruotolo.

That will be just one of the many massive matchups fight fans in the United States and Canada will see exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.

During an interview with Sportskeeda MMA before his ONE Championship premiere, Jozef Chen expects to be pushed harder than ever when he meets Ruotolo on martial arts' biggest global stage.

"There are very few people in my weight class that are of his caliber, obviously he did 88 before, but I think everyone's like…I mean his brother won ADCC but he he did get a medal in the absolute. So, obviously, everyone knows he's at that level."

Since making his ONE Championship debut alongside his brother and fellow ONE world champion Kade Ruotolo more than two years ago, Tye Ruotolo has established himself as one of the greatest grapplers on the planet. Aside from becoming an IBJJF world champion, he is also the first and only welterweight submission grappling world titleholder in ONE history.

Along the way, he earned wins over some imposing names inside the Circle, including former ONE world champions Marat Gafurov and Reinier de Ridder, BJJ legend Garry Tonon, and lightweight standout Dagi Arslanaliev.
