Judge who scored Paddy Pimblett's fight under review with Mohegan Athletic Department

Doug Crosby, who judged Paddy Pimblett's bout at UFC 282, is being scrutinized after the contentious scorecard of the Raufeon Stots vs. Danny Sabatello match at Bellator 289.

At Bellator 289's main event, Stots and Sabatello clashed, with Stots emerging victorious after a split decision. Judges Bryan Miner and Eric Colon both gave the match to Stots 48-47, but Crosby awarded Sabatello 50-45. This has led to a wave of criticism for the experienced judge.

Surrounding the controversy at Bellator 289, Mike Mazzulli, Director of Athletics for the Mohegan Athletic Department, has announced plans to review the Stots vs. Sabatello bout from Bellator 289 with the three judges involved, one of whom is Crosby:

"This is a very serious situation. The Mohegan Tribe Athletic Department always looks out for the best interests of all fighters. In the past the Mohegan Tribe Athletic Department has sanctioned officials that are not performing to the level that is required. Such sanctions, when they occur, are not made public.”

It is noteworthy that Crosby was one of the judges for the contentious co-main event bout between Paddy Pimblett and Jared Gordon at UFC 282. Despite Pimblett being declared the winner by unanimous decision, many spectators argued that Gordon should have been given the victory.

Given the recent actions of the Mohegan Athletic Department, the Pimblett vs. Gordon bout might also come under review, given its contentious nature.

"The Paddy fans, all the Scousers messaging me, 'Hey, I am from Liverpool. I'm a Paddy fan but you won. Got a new fan of me.' So, you know I could like complain about it and be bitter, you know, publicly and sob. But I am gonna take it in stride and... I would love a rematch. I will go to London to fight him."
