The title fight is scheduled to serve as the co-main event of UFC 307, which takes place in Salt Lake City, Utah this Saturday.
'The Venezuelan Vixen' will be returning to the octagon following a two-year layoff and expressed her frustration with the current state of the division. She took aim at the current champion for being reluctant to promote herself or the women's division.
During his pre-fight media availability ahead of UFC 307, Pena also brought up that she and 'Rocky' are polar opposites in regards to how they conducted themselves as champion. Moreover, she intends to regain the women's bantamweight championship and bring more attention to the division. Pena said:
"I believe that I want this opportunity and that this championship belt means more to me than it does to her. And it's very clear when you match us up side-by-side. Raquel [Pennington] has not been a good representation of the women's bantamweight division. She has not promoted. She has said no to 'Embedded.'"
