“Just gonna go out there and fight” - Demetrious Johnson looking to scrap against Adriano Moraes in trilogy
Demetrious Johnson has no set plan but to scrap with Adriano Moraes at ONE Fight Night 10.
Reigning ONE flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson is en route to defend his world title against long-time rival ‘Mikinho’ Adriano Moraes on May 5 in Denver, Colorado.
Tied 1-1 in the series, Johnson is not too worried about what the future holds as long as he focuses on training every day and staying strong. Appearing on Fight Tips this week, Johnson had this to say about his trilogy fight with Moraes:
“Just gonna go out there and fight, you know just like what I did in the first one. I think the biggest thing when it comes to where I’m at in my stage of my career, just go out there and fight. I mean I’ve been fighting for so long that everyone kind of knows my style and I just go out there and let my opponent pick their poison.”

Before ‘Mighty Mouse’ arrived at ONE Championship, he made his mark on the American scene with a record-setting run of 11 world title defenses in a span of five years.
Despite not being the biggest or the tallest man in the 135 lbs division, Johnson’s all-encompassing skillset in wrestling, boxing, and jiu-jitsu spoke for itself inside the cage. And that’s exactly what he expects will happen when he faces Adriano Moraes again at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video.

After winning the ONE flyweight World Grand Prix in 2019, Demetrious Johnson earned his shot at the world title against Adriano Moraes at ONE on TNT 1.
‘Mighty Mouse’ was all systems go but ultimately fell to the Brazilian standout by knockout in the second round. Johnson would later pick up a submission against Muay Thai phenom Rodtang Jitmuangnon in a mixed rules super-fight, before meeting Moraes again in August 2022 for their rematch.
The bout started off strong with both warriors exchanging strikes from inside the pocket. Eventually, the fight goes to the ground with ‘Mikinho’ looking to exercise top control. However, ‘Mighty Mouse’ would have none of it, as he bullied Moraes with elbows from the ground, causing significant damage to Moraes’ left eye.
Back on his feet, Demetrious Johnson landed a perfectly timed overhand which destabilized Moraes upon impact. Within seconds, ‘Mighty Mouse’ sent Adriano Moraes into the shadow realm with a vicious knee to the head to become the new ONE flyweight world champion.
