“Just one square” - Alexis Nicolas is allowed to cheat on his diet by nutritionist even in fight camp
Reigning and undisputed ONE lightweight kickboxing world champion 'Barboza' Alexis Nicolas of France has always taken his diet and nutrition very seriously. In fact, he's one of the fittest athletes on the ONE Championship roster.
A consummate professional, Nicolas is very strict about what he eats to fuel his training. However, his nutritionist actually gives him a hall pass every now and then.
Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Nicolas revealed he actually does cheat on his diet, even while training for a big fight.
'Barboza' stated:
"Nothing. I think maybe sometimes, a square of chocolate. But my nutritionist is fine with that. He said when I’m tired before training, I can eat one, and that’s okay. Just one square though, no more."
Nicolas captured the lightweight kickboxing throne back in April at ONE Fight Night 21, when he shocked the world by knocking longtime champion 'The Immortal' Regian Eersel down and taking home a unanimous decision on the scorecards.
Prior to that, Eersel had never been dominated and was on an eight-year unbeaten run in the world's largest martial arts organization.
Now, the two are ready to run it back in a world title rematch this Friday.
