Kade Ruotolo says twin brother Tye Ruotolo is also eager to open MMA account: “He’s ready tomorrow”
After making his mixed martial arts debut in June, Kade Ruotolo says that his twin brother and fellow ONE world champion Tye Ruotolo is itching to test out his own skills in four-ounce gloves.
Establishing himself as one of the best BJJ wizards on the planet, Kade Ruotolo decided it was time to conquer another sport. At ONE 167 in Bangkok, he made his MMA debut against American standout Blake Cooper—the brother of two-time PFL champion Ray Cooper III.
Needless to say, it was a successful showing for Ruotolo, who secured a first-round submission victory over Cooper, earning his first win in the sport and seventh overall under the ONE Championship banner.
Speaking with Cageside Press, Ruotolo revealed that his brother, ONE welterweight submission grappling world champion Tye Ruotolo, hopes to follow in his footsteps and make his own move to MMA in the near future.
"For sure, my brother was clicking his fists right there at the corner. He's definitely more than ready. He's ready tomorrow, if he has the opportunity."

Kade Ruotolo returns to the mat for a clash with Mikey Musumeci at ONE 168: Denver
After earning his first win in MMA, Kade Ruotolo will return to the mat on Friday, September 6, when ONE Championship heads back to the United States for a stacked night of fights in The Centennial State.
ONE 168: Denver will see Ruotolo put his ONE lightweight submission grappling world championship on the line against the promotion's reigning flyweight submission grappling king, Mikey Musumeci.
It will be the first time that two submission grappling world champions meet inside the Circle.
Aside from gold, pride and a couple of 'O's' will be on the line as both Musumeci and Ruotolo enter the bout with matching 7-0 records under the ONE Championship banner.
